"What would you try if you knew you wouldn't fail?" -Ryan Leak
First and foremost, I want to say THANK YOU. I can't tell you enough how much it means to me that you're here and how excited I am that you're interested in leadership. Second, I want to tell you that without your support, nothing I do moving forward will be possible, so thanks!
For the first blog post on this platform, I want to explain why I've chosen this avenue - an online blog - as one way to share leadership advice. A blog is an amazing platform that can be used to reach hundreds of thousands of people with a simple click of "Publish." Words are powerful, and I'll venture to guess that anyone wanting to develop their leadership skills is able to read.
The goal of Follow the Leader is to build a community of leaders that offers you practical and relevant leadership advice.
The blog was launched in 2018, shortly followed by the launch of my company, Nobility Leadership, in early 2019. I am the main blogger, but my favorite part is bringing on guest bloggers to share from their area of leadership expertise. Leadership is a huge topic that covers a lot of ground and a lot of perspectives, so I value having different voices sharing with you.
There are thousands of podcasts and even more books that offer impactful learnings on the broad topic of leadership but, quite honestly, a lot of you may not have time to soak in that much material in the short window of time you have for personal growth. I wanted to create a space where someone can spend a few minutes on a short reading and feel he or she has gained practical knowledge that can be applied that very same day.
With that being said, I hope you enjoy the blog. If you are more of a podcast fan, my Commute to Success podcast launched and a lot of these topics are also covered in the podcast in short 30 minute or less episodes.
When I heard the question from Ryan Leak about what I would do if I knew I wouldn't fail, my answer was starting this blog, this leadership development company and the podcast. I was challenged when I came up with those answers about why I hadn't done it yet. Unable to come up with any good excuses, I decided to go for it. I want to encourage you to answer the same question and just go for it! You never know where it may take you.
We have lots of goodies we'd love to send your way to jumpstart your leadership development. We would love to know a little more about you to make sure we're only serving up relevant content!
P.S. Don't worry, we don't like spam either.
